Frame Sliders

Congratulations! You have just purchased the world’s finest frame sliders. These sliders have been designed to offer unsurpassed protection to your motorcycle in the unfortunate event of a crash or tip over.

Important: These Frame Sliders are designed to fit specific engine mounts of your motorcycle. This kit has separate left and right adapters and sliders (left and right while sitting on the bike). The left side installs to the engine, utilizing the special adapter bracket and longer slider (lower forward engine mount). The right side installs directly to the engine mount utilizing the adapter provided with the shorter slider.

Instructions:

1.   Remove the lower fairings on both sides.

2.     Remove the left-side engine mount bolt (14mm Head).

3.     Install the special adapter (offset) with the new 12 x 90 Flange Head bolt, rotating it to the 2 o’clock position.

4.     Tighten the engine mount bolt to the factory specifications.                    DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.

5.     Install the longer slider on the adapter, and then tighten. Non-permanent thread lock compound should be used.

6.     Loosen the right-side pinch bolt (12mm Head) on the right forward engine mount.

7.     Loosen the engine mount bolt (10mm Allen); hold the nut (17mm) on the back (this may require 2 people).

8.     Remove the bolt and save the spacer to reuse later. Slide the adapter through the frame, slide the washer over the bolt and partially insert it through the shorter slider, and the adapter. Place the spacer back into the original position and push the bolt all the way in.

9.     Use the Nylock nut provided and tighten to the factory specifications.    DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN

10.  Tighten the pinch bolt to the factory specifications.

RIGHT SIDE

FAIRING MODIFICATIONS

It is suggested that you drill a small pilot hole to locate the engine mount.  Once you have found the center, use a hole saw and cut a hole approximately 1 7/8” in diameter.  Edges can be sanded for perfect fit, or inaccuracies in drilling.  We have found that placing masking tape on the area helps protect from scratches, cracks, etc.
