Frame Sliders

Congratulations! You have just purchased the world’s finest frame sliders. These sliders have been designed to offer unsurpassed protection to your motorcycle in the unfortunate event of a crash or tip over.

Important: These Frame Sliders are designed to fit specific engine mounts of your motorcycle.  This kit has separate left and right pieces (left and right while sitting on the bike). The longer slider is to be used with the 80mm bolt on the left side.  The bolt should fit down inside the bushing.  It is highly recommended that you refer to your service manual before performing this installation.  Fairing Modifications will need to be performed on the left side only – 1.25” dia. circle. (see below).  NOTE: A long reach allen socket (8mm) will be needed to torque the left side.

Instructions: (bodywork will need to be removed and re-assembled)

1.     Remove the left-side engine mount bolt.

2.     Install the longer slider using the new 10mm x 80mm socket head bolt.  Slide the bolt through the frame slider, then through the special spacer in between the slider and the frame (spacer should fit into the frame opening).

3.     Tighten the engine mount bolt to the factory specifications - DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.

4.     Remove the right-side engine mount bolt. You may need to loosen the pinch bolt on the right side, which will most likely require the fairing to be removed.  After removing the engine mount bolt, torque the pinch bolt and re-install the fairing.

5.     Install the shorter piece of plastic using the new 10mm x 90mm bolt (Flange head) supplied in this kit.

6.     Tighten the engine mount bolt to the factory specifications - DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.

It is suggested that you drill a small pilot hole to locate the engine mount.  Once you have found the center, use a hole saw and cut a hole approximately 1 1/4” in diameter.  Edges can be filed and/or sanded for a perfect fit, or inaccuracies in drilling.  We have found that placing masking tape on the area helps protect from scratches, cracks, etc.
