Aramel Racing -  CBR 600 F4

Dear Jeff,

Just a note to let you know how pleased we are with your frame sliders. Earlier this year we sent one of our F4's down the track at Laguna. It was a classic low-side crash, we did not have your sliders in place at the time, and it tore up a new set of bodywork. The repair bill was $325.

Looking for some way to minimize future crash damage, we installed your frame sliders on all of our F4's after Laguna. There have been a few more tumbles on the pavement since then, and in every instance the frame sliders have dramatically reduced the amount of damage to the bodywork. Instead of the usual wholesale reconstruction of missing body panels, our repair efforts now consist mostly of filling in scratches and some touch-up painting. Your sliders have easily saved us over $1500 in damage repair / new bodywork over the course of the last seven races.

Thank you for your excellent product and I wish you continued success with the business.

Kind Regards,

Bob L.

Brian Teal - CBR900RR

I just wanted to thank you for coming out with the ebony frame sliders for the CBR900RR. I laid my bike down March 21st of this year. I've been riding for 14 years and never have laid one down until now. It received $4100 in damage. After rebuilding it and replacing the exhaust with an Akrapovic full carbon system, my bike was better than new. I had it all together 2 days before track day at Thunderhill in California. I received my frame sliders the day before. I was pondering putting them on because of having to drill into my fairings, but I decided to do so anyway. The holes came out beautifully and the sliders were able to be fitted all within about 30 minutes time (with a 10 minute coffee break included). The NEXT day I went for a track day. I was pulling some great lap times and shredding my new knee pucks when all of a sudden while entering turn 11 my rear end slipped out and I started sliding across the track, over a berm, and through the dirt, all at about 40 mph. I was SICK! My newly repaired bike was laid down AGAIN! TWICE in a months time! As I picked it up, I looked for the damage. The frame slider was a little worn down, the engine casing had a few scratches, the bar end had a couple small scratches, and the tail section had a couple small scratches. Nothing big at all! The frame sliders saved me a few thousand dollars in damage and I will use them on every bike I own! I've been telling MANY of my friends about them as well as the local moto shops. Expect to get MANY orders for these great sliders!

Thank you once again, I couldn't be happier!

Scott - CBR929RR

Had a minor get off on my Honda CBR929RR a couple of days ago. Through my own stupidity, I managed to tuck the front and lay the bike down on it's left side while going about 35mph at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. The bike and I slid to a stop after traversing 50-60 feet of pavement.
When I noticed oil leaking out from under the bike, I feared the worst... Upon picking the bike up, however, I was absolutely flabbergasted by how little damage had been done to my IRP frame slider-equipped bike!!! Bar-end? Untouched. Clutch lever? Untouched! Footpeg? Pristine. Gear selector? No damage. Sharkskinz bodywork? Haven't cleaned it up yet but it sure looks like it's in great shape (no breaks, cracks, or deep scratches)! Yes, I did manage to crack the alternator cover, but I attribute that more to Honda's design of the cover (I've seen lots of people crack them) than Intuitive's frame slider.
As a result of your product, this crash is only going to cost me about $75 ($63 for a new alternator cover, $6 for the gasket, and $6 for S/H) to repair! Unbelievable!

Thanks for the info and for making such a great product!

DJ -  CBR 600 F4i

I installed a set of your black frame sliders on my bike 3 days ago....I layed my bike down today in a turn getting on the freeway at about 40-45 mph....and the sliders worked perfectly...they kept the bike sliding and minimized the damage to my fairings....and saved the frame entirely. I'm eternaly greatfull for your quality product and will definitly be purchasing another setto replace the one thats ground down. I will definitly let everyone know how incredibly your product helped to save my bike. I've done alot of mods on my bike and this was by far the best one I could have made. Once again > thanks.

Bryan Bentley - GSXR

Subject:  Sliders are life savers

I laid my 98srad down yesterday and was really impressed at the protection your sliders gave my bike- all i had was a snapped brake lever where its suppose to break off, a scapped up mirror and a slight grindage on the pipe.  a tiny lil scratch on the plastics and thats it. We got it all on video tape- it would make a great commercial.  When the bike fell on its side the slider took all the impact.  It bent the bolt that holds the slider in.

Thanks for such a great product,

Stuart Johnson - GSXR

Dear Sirs,

I am not a racer yet, just a guy who likes to go out and ride with his friends. After a run in with an elderly lady, the boat she calls a car, and a patch of gravel I purchased a pair of ebony frame sliders for my new and repaired GSXR with the hope damage in further crashes would be minimized.  When my girlfriend, who used to work in a Honda dealership, saw them she laughed and told me how dumb they looked. She pointed out that they and training wheels were basically the same thing.  Well I have to tell you, after getting the bike backed into in a parking lot and a run in with a rain soaked crosswalk, she is a believer and the ridicule has subsided.  Thanks for developing a great product and the 49.95 I spent has saved me about $1000 in possible damage.  You guys are good and I'll be ordering more in the future.

Thanks again,

Stuart J.

Trevor T.- GSXR750

I own a 02' Gsxr750 and have had two accidents with your frame sliders on. The first was a tank slapper setting down a standup at about 100mph. The bike made impact on its right side and the frame slider started to grind into the ground. The force of the impact should of totaled my bike, your frame slider kept the bike on its right side and just skidded down the highway only causing plastic damage. The second accident was a low side at about 70mph and again the frame slider did its job causing minimal damage to the bike. I tell everyone that asks how good you products are. I've seen others that are cheaper and nothing compares. Many of my friends have purchased your parts do to my experiences with the product. Just thought you should know. Thanks and keep making the great products.

Subject:  Hayabusa Slide

I just want to thank you for your product. I put on my hayabusa sliders approx. two weeks ago and on oct. 13th I was involved in an accident, bike went down, and if it wasn't for your sliders there would have been so much more damage to the bike.

They are a bit of a pain to put on but once they were in, it was a great investment. look foward to my re-order once my bike gets back on the road this spring.

Thanks again,

Pete C.

John Z. - SV

…It was mid-afternoon and the SV had been running smoothly all day. The new Two Brothers Racing exhaust system gave the bike a little extra punch and I could finally hear what the bike was doing. Lap times were dropping all day and I finally broke my knee puck virginity on the second session. The track was pretty clear, as usual in the afternoons, and I had no other riders in sight. I was putting down a decent lap when I braked for turn two and positioned myself for the corner. I didn't run it too hot or too deep. As I exited the apex, I went through a small rough patch at the exit of the turn. The same patch had upset the bike twice before, but the soft suspension on the SV had absorbed it without incident.

This time was different. As quick as a virgin on prom night, I was on the ground and sliding. I slid for approx. 2-3 seconds towards the edge of the track. Remembering what I heard in every rider's meeting, my first instinct was to get off the track. I looked up and no other bikes were coming. I quickly scurried off to the side of the race track.

After waiting for the crash truck and the "Long Ride Home", I finally got back to the pits to assess the damage. If I could ever recommend a product that works, it would have to be the Intuitive Frame Sliders. On the SV they are HUGE and had been the butt of many a "Highway Pegs" joke. Well, they performed 100% as they were supposed. Fairing Damage: NONE Tank Damage: NONE!!! The only damage was to the brand new titanium exhaust system. But thanks to the Two Brother Racing we will be replacing the system this week.

Well thankfully to one GREAT frame slider, one skilled rider, and a little luck, a potentially very bad situation turned out to be only minor. Track days are for learning and finding the limits of you and your bike in a safe environment. Had this occurred on the streets, who knows what might have happened.

So remember, avoid doing it at all cost. But if you're going to do it, do it safe environment. And always, ALWAYS wear proper protection (for your bike and your body.)

Steve Sturm - YZF750

Subject:  Your beetchin frame sliders

Jeff,

Just wanted to let you know how fricking well your sliders work.  Going through right hand Turn 9 at Willow Springs a couple months ago - just happened to be the last lap and the last turn - I was trying to get by this guy in front of me and lowsided the bike at around 100 mph.  I tumbled off into the weeds and when I gathered myself up, went over to see my bike.  Totally expecting the worst.

When I got to it and picked it up, I was shocked to see that the only real damage was to the pipe.  And the frame slider...and...nothing else!!! Nothing.  Not the clip on, not even a scratch on the bodywork.  The bike slid on the slider and the pipe and that was it!!!

Shocked to say the least.  Happy?  Hell yeah, you would have thought I won the race, I was so happy that I didn't have a 1000 plus dollar repair bill.  Intuitive race sliders are key!!!!!

I attached a picture of the bike, exactly as it was after the crash.  To anyone out there debating whether or not they can afford the sliders - YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO HAVE THEM!!!

Daniel D. Wood - R1 Street kit w/Clutch Protector

Subject:  Crash Tested Sliders!

On the way in to work I had the misfortune of running through some sand/gravel on an offramp and lowsided the bike.  I actually stayed on untill I heard the muffler and clutch slider grinding and then it go (avoiding a highside).  The bike was still sliding after I had stopped rolling and I watched it go across the ramp and stop in the outside
shoulder.  Both sliders (street upper/clutch lower) held up admirably!  The street slider bent backwards about 30 degrees and ground half-way down but saved the fairing from major damage and the tank was completely untouched. The clutch slider took most of the damage.  The clutch and footrest/brake assembly took no damage and allowed me to ride the bike the rest of the way to work and then to the shop afterwards.  Hats off to IRP and a GREAT product - they are a "must have" for all sportbike owners!

Robert M. - R1

I went on a ride with the service manager from the local Yamaha dealer, one of the mechanics, his wife and a couple of other guys. We took Highway 70 from Chico, CA to Quincy for lunch, then came back via Highway 162.

I was in a right hand turn... feeling pretty good, looking through the corner, everything a GO... when it happened. Traction just let loose (running the stock quasi-208s, which are feeling a little squirrely after a couple of track days, getting H2s this week) and the bike started to lowside. I tried to get it back up but there was just no place to grab... I'd hit a patch of gravel in the road, which looked like it was mixed with some spilled oil.

Fortunately, there was no oncoming traffic and my friends were quick to block off the roadway and help me get the bike back up. I'd installed Intuitive sliders -- both the frame and clutch sliders, plus bar ends -- and they saved big $$$. There is some rash on the high point of the lower fairing, about 3 cm high and 9 cm long. There is very small rash on the right mirror and the right (stock) turn signal. The mirror folded back but snapped right back into shape. The front and rear brake levers are bent (the service manager thinks he can heat the rear lever and bend it back). There's also a small area of rash on the bottom bend of the connecting pipe for my Micron high mount, and the pipe's aluminum mounting plate is slightly bent.
The right frame slider is worn down about 2 cm and the clutch slider about one. I have no doubt that much of the other bodywork and the clutch case would have been majorly rashed if if wasn't for the sliders.

Overall, I figure the $100 (or less) spent on the sliders probably saved me at least $750.

C.W.M. - YZF1000

I had a pair of your sliders on my 97 YZF1000. I wanted to thank you for putting out such a great product. I was in a turn at Second Creek Raceway and someone tried to pass me on the inside. He apparently he lost the front or just careened into my rear tire anyhow we both went down at around 70MPH. Anyhow the bikes slid down the tarmac, his on his plastics, mine on my slider. Then bounced off into the grass/dirt, and then came to a halt at the tire wall. His lower belly pan, upper, and middle fairing got scraped horendously. My plastics hardly touched, the frame didnt touch, and if it weren't for the bounces in the dirt (and a snapped collarbone), I'd be good to go. However it landed upside down, and crunched my upper, and windscreen, and fairing stays. Not bad considering it landed on all sides at least once! I do need a right hand side slider as it was ground down alot and the bolt bent, and probably wouldn't withstand another wreck. Wondering if I could buy a right hand side slider and hardware.

Thanks loads!

Quentin Mise

Subject:
Test Results

To whom this letter may concern, My name is Quentin Mise, president of Mise Motorsports based in Glen Burnie Maryland. I've been racing motorcycles for the last decade in one form or another, and my latest project has been to make a profit in club racing using the Yamaha Contingency program combined with other product and cash sponsors. This sounds a little too-good-to-be-true, but I'm proud to say that the program I've put together over the past couple of years has been a successful one. With seven championships of some type or another over the past three seasons, Mise Motorsports has become a known factor in the motorcycle roadracing community, and it was this reputation which led to an introduction between Jeff Russell, of Intuitive Racing Products, and myself. During my sponsorship hunt I've received offers from a number of knee puck suppliers, including free product to try out and distribution agreements. When Jeff said that he was a new company, and wasn't just sticking to knee pucks alone, I decided to give him a chance and see what they were up to at Intuitive Racing Products. He sent me a sample pair of their, "Ivrie Knee Pucks," to use at my season opening round, and asked that I give him an impression of their product. Well I can sum up what I found in one sentence. These are the best value for the money in the knee puck market available right now, bar none, period. I used to go through a thin leather knee puck in a single sprint, and one of the, "Thick" long lasting ones in a weekend. Well, after using the Ivrie knee puck for all of practice on Friday, my twenty lap events on Saturday, and the sprints on Sunday, I still had enough left to use at the next event. I was impressed to say the least. Now it must be said, that there is one other company that makes a puck that lasts this long, but they charge damn near twice the price. It's simple economics to me, that the best deal in roadracing right now is to get a pair of these Ivrie Knee Pucks, because for the average amateur lightweight or middleweight racer, these pucks could easily go for a season or more. I am pleased to announce that for 1998, Mise Motorsports will use and endorse only the Ivrie Knee pucks, at all CCS, WERA, FASTTRAX, GLRRA, and AMA events that I attend. I am also excited about the other products that Intuitive Racing Products offer as well. And though I've not tested the other items that they have available, if they've put the same time and economic value in those products that they did their knee pucks, I'm sure that they'll be true winners as well. Thanks to Mr. Russell and his associates, we have seen a return to value in the club racing scene that has been missing for a very long time.
Sincerely,
Quentin J. Mise
